Well I spent some time talking to the Edelbrock guys at the SEMA show. They have a new intake manifold that has short runners, extremely high flow claims and the msrp retail price is around $400. (Summit will end up selling it probably around $350, wholesale is even lower)
The guy I was talking to said in testing on a stock cube 203cc edelbrock heads/ 207/220, 118 LSA cam LS1 motor they made 32 more horsepower at 6300 vs a LS6 intake manifold. Also on the same test it was approx 55 horsepower ahead of the LS6 at 7000 rpm.
Other facts he gave me were *unofficial* tests where they tested versus a Fast 92mm LSx intake on a big cube (i think he said 400 something inch motor) with their best cnc edelbrock heads and a 24x something duration camshaft, they made 30+ more peak horsepower over than fast intake and there is room for porting on the edelbrock intake.
He mentioned the runner length etc was much like sheetmetal intakes and there is room to grow with lots of porting on the intake for radical setups..
Also he suggested it would likely fit under the cowl of an f-body due to the throttle body being on the front and nothing sticking up above it.
Its called a "Pro-Flo XT Intake Manifold" Part # 7139 for silver, 71393 for black
Unrelated, I found this video by searching for it on google:
In the video they are using 203cc Edelbrock/lingenfelter cnc heads with a 207/220, .573/.580 lift 118 LSA edelbrock cam (very weak combination in my opinion to test this intake on
