Yes.
Stroker motors need either bigger combustion chambers in the heads or larger valve reliefs in the pistons in order to keep the compression to pump gas levels.
The reason for that is a stroker motor has extra distance to compress the mixture over a stock stroke engine.
My engine doesn't ping with 93..But it will with 92.
It pings at idle with 89. It's on the ragged edge of needing to mix in race gas.
