The reason why it shows a new post at 8:05AM your time is because the "last post" information is out of date. There was a post there, but it was removed. Normally when a post is removed it doesn't do that, but there is one method of removing posts that causes that issue to appear. To prevent that, a script is suppose to be ran to rebuild that information. Given the size of the forums and the minor issue that is, the Administration probably doesn't believe it's a necessary action.
