We actually blew up a 305 on my engine test run stand for the fun of it in the garage the other week while we drank beer and took bets on how long it would last

.....damn thing ran floating the valves for a good 10 minutes before a rod kicked a hole through the block

....they may not be powerful but the are tuff!
