I've got a 383 in my Trans Am that is daily driver 99% on the time. In fact, I haven't even had it to the track yet (too damn hot in Houston!).

I'm running a Comp Cams 224 intake duration, 230 exhaust duration with .609"/.604" lift on a 114 LSA. Most will say it's too small for a 383, but I really don't care. It's not a track car, makes over 400 pounds of torque and drives around town great. No surging, bucking, etc. Hell, check out AFR's Tony Mamo's 383 build thread and he started with their own 224/228 cam.
