Look into using the fan I used if you have enough room. It's a fan from a 3.8l box style taurus

Well i got a chance to work on the TA for a whomping 30minutes tonight befor it got dark.... long hours at work and the days getting shorter sucks! although i am thankfull to have a job! lol

I will get pictures tomorrow... but i removed waser fluid tank and cut the stock fan assembly up and now they will fit!!! i will have to resplice the fan wires to run fans in the opposit direction.

so thats one more thing done.... I have A LONG WAY TO GO!!!!! I would be damn near done if i still had my garage!!!

still debating on dropping the K member or pulling the motor out the top... prolly dropping the k member (even though ill have to go get another alignment)....

I bought some summit fast five wheels, Mickey Thompson 275/60R15's ET street radial rears, Mickey Thompson Sportsmans fronts 26x7.5-15's....... so ill just get the tires put on with the allignment.

I still need to buy some Siemens Deka 60# injectors, new brakes (rotors/pads), Meth Kit, Fuel Pressure Guage, Turbo Blanket, and TQ arm........ im getting close to having everything!!!!! This has become not quite so budget, LMAO!!!

I have the 5.3L, 317 Heads, PRC springs, turbo oil lines, ARP head bolts, MLS gaskets, Autometer Boost guage, merge pipe,

Hoping to have the ls1 out of the Trans AM this weekend (if i dont work, gonna be on call, lol)

Ill keep updated!

Figured some might want to know....I have alot of the stuff, but man i still have over $1710 worth of stuff to buy, and thats not counting the unexpected/forgotten parts. I need to start attending LSX Annonamous for my addiction lmao!

Just a suggestion, but you might want to just list the parts needed for the turbo install and then make another list for what you need specifically for your car. At first glance the price looks rather steep, but if you eliminate everything not specifically turbo related, it goes down quite a bit. I'm debating doing the exact same thing as you - 5.3 pullout and a single turbo. I just saw the $5000+ price tag and was like "WTF?" I figured it could be done for a lot cheaper.

AND made some progress on the car after work!

it was a PITA to get the motor/tranny out from under the car lol.... the darn cherry picker sticks in so far...

I need to take all the accessories and oil pan of the ls1 and put it on the 5.3 and put in the new rear main seal tomorrow i hope!

so this a turbo 5.3 lt going into your car? I've been thinking of an idea like this but stroking it out to a 346 then doing a forged setup - 6.0 lt blocks are becoming harder to find and i just feel like i could push more boost to a cast iron block than i can my stock alum. . . .i'll be subscribing to this to see how your build does.

that's what i'd be intrested in finding out as this is the closest to my 5.3 build idea i can get and i think the motor can handle plenty of boost from what i can tell on the turbo trucks who run them. . .

I TOOK PICTURES WITH MY GOOD CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!! It so much easier to just send the pics directly from my cell to photobucket, lol.

I got the cam, pushrods, oil pump, double roller timming chain, 317 heads, ls6 intake, water pump, PS pump, ect.... and the motor installed into the car.

Mocked up the merge pipe:

I still need to figure out what im going to do for an alternator bracket, run my cold pipe, weld on my BOV & WG, make my downpipe and weld in WB02 bung, install 2nd walbro, install new boost guage, buy/install FP guage, make a bracket for fans and reverse wiring to run fans backwards... ect

So im looking at another 2 weeks befor i get to fire it up... this project is taking so long since i dont have a freaking garage
