I didn't want to be that disrespectful to my home state, but this is exactly what I was thinking as well. (with the exception of NAS Oceana. I love that place)
Virginia was instrumental in colonial America and during the revolutionary war, and they have pretty much sucked balls since then. I was born and raised in Virginia, and I left the day I turned 18.
Be sure to keep your Florida residency as well. VA has high state income tax, and FL has 0 income tax.
