i beg to differ on the 12 year old. i sound like a disgruntal citizen who has spent two years in combat fighting for his country just to come home and get FUCKED by the system and recently punched in the face by a a cop, while sitting in my vehicle, during an illegal traffic stop.... sorry if im a tad bit bitter
what lesson was he trying to teach? not to make noise? i dont know about your courts, but in the small towns where i live, it would NOT just get tossed out unless you know someone |
I have a personal story that supports your point of view, but I won't divulge the specifics since i'm sure my friends wouldn't appreciate that.
Cliffs notes: Two of my friends were parked on the side of the road, multiple cop cars pulled up, accused them of participating in a reported street race that supposedly occurred miles away. Their cars were searched illegally. Both cars were impounded and both people arrested. Both were held overnight, one was able to make bail before the county bus arrived but the other was not so lucky, and was shipped to county prison before he was allowed to make bail, despite reassurances to the contrary.
Luckily for them, the father of one of the two was until recently a district DA and the charges were later dropped and the officers put on paid leave pending investigations, only after months of court dates, mountains of paperwork, and the noticeable lack of cooperation from the CS police, which bordered on downright malicious blocking of legal action. Ever since then I've been constantly aware of how much trouble they would have been in if one of them had not been related to the district DA. Those in college station know just how bloodthirsty the police can be in this town.
There were a series of stories on this in The Eagle, which is a local newspaper.
