While Im glad someone is doing this, I disagree with that statement... heads/cam is much cheaper, and nitrous is even cheaper than that. that motor will easily take a 150 shot with a safe tune.

that being said, go put a heads/cam package on that car and shoot for 600+ hp

A head and cam will NEVER touch the torque of a blower.
The new Camaro weights almost 4,000lbs.
It NEEDS a blower.

Thats what I'm really interested in seeing.. someone do a weight reduction mod on this car and couple it with a SC... then we're gonna see some major #'s

Nothing really to get all excited about. I would expect more out of an SCD LS3 if you ask me!

530rwhp with only 121-122 traps? 02 F-bodies do that with 100rwhp less. I would be upset personally but that could be from seeing the LS3 C6 times. A 530rwhp C6 should run 130+. I'll stick to the C6 but I will say they look badazz. They just need a lightweight version like the GTR has now. IMHO

I'm not knocking the Camaro so don't get your panties in a bunch, just putting it into perspective.

The real question is why does it weigh so much? When the mustang is a comparably sized car, yet weighs hundreds of pounds less.

For one it has full side airbags. I know that doesn't account for hundreds but im sure they are hefty. All the body panels are steel, the IRS is heavier than a solid rear. It is a combination of things. I say full glass/CF hood, fenders, trunk, roof panel, doors, etc will shed a GOOD amount of weight.

So are the mustang body panels not steel? The new mustang is solid axle still or IRS? Sorry I don't know much of anything about mustangs.

A lot of the mustang body panels are like the 4g camaro plastic. The new mustang is solid axle.

good luck with that...I'm assuming the brakes are massive and won't fit anything that small.
