The Camaro was tuned with HP Tuners and the TM was removed. At the track it spins going into 2nd and 3rd. I want to fix that so it doesn't spin and make it safer at the track and maybe pick up a little time too. I have EFI Live and want to soften the shifts a little.
Any tuners out there that can help?
Here are some vids so you can see what I mean by spinning on the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift.
Why wouldnt u just put a stickier set of tires on it at the track?Get a second set of rims with some mt drag radials.Check out OrangeChevyII setup .I believe he's runnin a 18' corvette rim with a dr on it.
Those runs were with Nitto 555R DR's on stock wheels. Also, I even tried lowering the PSI to 15 to no avail. I should be able to adjust the shifting in the TCM. Just need to know what parameters to change.
Im assuming a 20' rim correct?Your gonna need to run a 18' rim and a mt dr to get everything out of the car.Nittos on a 20' rim arent gonna cut it,a 20' rim or bigger just isnt condusive to good track times.Programing more tm into the equation,is only covering up the problem and takin away the potential of the car.Put a really good tire on it,play with the shift points,an try diff launch rpms to see what it likes.
You want to add the torque management back into the tune?
I have a buddy that run's 10.80's on a 20" Nitto drag radial. They are great tires
for a 20". I'm sure you know that you have to do a John Force style burnout to really
get some heat into those Nittos.
It dead hooks of the line but when going into 2nd it kicks to the side while spinning. The track was prepped good on the start but only for the first 60ft or so. I did not want to go any lower than 15 PSI in the tires. I heat the tires up by spinning until they grab and shoot the car forward then try a dry burnout. If it doesn't spin I know the tires are ready if not I do another burnout.
I can try 18" wheels with other DR's but it will not help me on the street. It would still shift very harsh. If I could just reduce the amount of TM taken out it would be perfect.

I never really had alot of success with nittos at the track. But u are correct,i think if u do a bigger/longer burnout at the track ;ala johforce style they will work better for u.You gotta really put alot of heat in these tires, for them to work.I was assumin u were talkin about a track setup, thats why i sugested that rim/tire setup.I still dont think u wanna add tm back in .You will be takin potential out of the car.Maybe check out bmr for there new susp parts.Prolly will help ya hook .
