Default Alpine CDA-D852 and iPod

I'm getting a D852 because I really like the 1.5din size and because I am getting it so cheap I'd be stupid not to.

Question is... how can I hook my iPod or AV420 to this unit? It does not have an AUX In but it does have a CD changer control which I am sure there was a device made to turn that into an AUX input.

The alternative I guess would be to get a CD Changer that does MP3s to hook to it.

Any help GREATLY appreciated

cjakcs7 you are the man! I would have spent forever trying to figure that out. Only one I can find that carries it is Crutchfield.

Updating status for benefit of future searchers...

Ok... talked to Alpine today and here's the deal.

The CDA-D852 has to be tricked into allowing an Aux. input.

First you need to buy a KCA-121B adapter.
Get a mini-toggle switch from Radio Shack
Go into menu and select "Mute Off"
Hook up one side of toggle to ground
The other to the Pink/Black wire

With the switch ON, it will play Aux input
With the switch OFF, it will play from the HU itself.

The guy knew his stuff and answered me without hesitating.

So, in essence, you were right qwikz28
