Race results
During the first race about a month ago I made it to round two in spite of my tranny not shifting into second. In the second round I chopped the tree down and had my opponent by a car at the 60' mark. Unfortunately he flew by me on the big end while I was doing everything to try and get the car to shift. Well, every round counts when you're chasing points and I'm glad to get as far as I did.
Fast forward to today -
Some heavy hitters showed up from out of town that hadn't been seen at the event before. This was probably one of the quicker fields we've seen having run this similar type event for about 4 years now.
First round I was paired up with an SS Monte Carlo that sported a 632c.i. Dart on two kits. Did my job on the tree and ripped a killer light to put a car on him by the 60'. It looked like he peddled a couple of times trying to keep the front end from pulling a big wheelstand. By the stripe I could see him well behind and I was moving on.
Round 2 I drew the winner from the last event. The car is a notch back Mustang with a 468 BBC on 2 kits appropriately named "Haf Bred". Again with my ax did I whack the tree and put enough space between us to give me a chance. From the video it looked like he pulled the second kit at half track while I could see the nose of his car along side me. By this time I'm beggin for the stripe to come quick and I held him off by the closest of margins.
The next round was a gift as I drew the Bye and let the other two heavy hitters battle it out before the finals.
For the final round I was up against Eddie Miller and his Mopar. Better known as the "Fastest Street Car in America" as dubbed when he won the Hot Rod Pump Gas drags. He's now gone as quick as 8.10 at 170. Yikes is the appropriate word here.
As I play back the video in frame by frame I can see that I moved only about a hundredth quicker at the light. We all know that I needed that to be multiplied by a few thousand times for the math to work in my in favor. From there I was getting a great a view of his bullet flying down the track for the win even with him peddling it.
Ended up lining my pockets with some cash and a new trophy for the case. If I calculate right, this moved me up to second in the points standings. It was a good day.

On a side note, Eddie was R/U in the Pump Gas Drags last year. Still a bad *** ride, although the lexan and such makes me think "race car" more than street car, but I'm opinionated!
