Question Hid Retrofit.

Has anyone ever done a hid retrofit (PROJECTOR) or know of a site for reference. I have found sites for other cars, I need a site for a camaro headlight. I have two hid projectors and I want retrofit them in the camaro headlight. Any info will help.

i have seen it done, the back of the light was cut out, a perfect circle where the light bulbs are, then it was installed with some kind of silcone sealant that also holds very well in high temps.. It looks awesome.. Maybe someone on here will chime in and give you the website, I thought about doing it with my regular lights!

I can e-mail you some pics of my retro-fitted camaro with projectors! I used projectors from a BMW and real HID parts for the retro-fit. I used J-B weld putty for sealing the back of the housing of the headlight. Its a pain to do, but the out come is great! I love the look of other camaro drivers driving towards me and I hit the headlight switch! All they do is look down at the flicker of the HID's. HID flicker kicks ass!!!

Look for my car under the Thread " MasterOfPuppets Camaro" in appearance & detailing and you will see some of the headlight pics. Summer helped me post the pics. Hopefully this helps alittle.

the j and y key are pretty close in the dark, maybe thats the problem. Anybody ever try converting the foglights to HID??? They seem to already have the correct beam pattern.

Anyone try this on a Trans Am/Formula? I have a 1996 Formula and I was thinking of doing this. The stock headlights are just horrible and this would be a great improvement.

If anyone has a link to a thread on this forum, please post that. I have tried to search, but nothing.

Thanks, Greg

are all 4 lights HIDs? that must have been a GRIP! i'm guessing you cut the back of the housing. what did you use to seal it, if you did? let's see some night pics. very nice work.

Very nice.

How much time and $$ did it cost you to do something like that?

Soulpower, why did you choose the C6 lights? Are they good units, do you know who makes them? Maybe you got a good deal on them so that's why you used them? I'm curious because they are new and I don't know what lights these are nor can there be many available used. Did you get them new?

I don't know if it would be worth the $300 to do it. I've seen people add white bulbs to it and it looked nice and white. It's also hard to say if there is a HID bulb available that would fit in the socket. Do you know what bulb size it takes?
