I know I have a thread already with pics of my car but it seems to fall into this topic as well. I have the SApackage on my 00' Z28 and I also get lots of compliments on it. If you think its rice then thats ok, you are entitled to your opinion.

Lol. I agree. I classify ricers as people who do drastic things to their cars....keeping them just as slow and making them look and sound hideous (like those annoying fart cans). I have to admit, sometimes, every so often, there are people who make civics,acuras,etc look decent and formitable competitors.
i highly agree with this, that west wing kit, when in its full form, looks very rice, just the ground effects looks tolerable, but imho it makes the front end look to tall
i also agree with the lowering of the car looks better than a kit, my car is lowered, tho i must say that blk02bird's option and SleeperZzZ28's kit is very nice too i saw one of those in person(SleeperZzZ28's kit), i love the spoiler on it, i tihnk it looks better than the SS, tho, this conversation isnt about spoilers , that is my two cents

rice simply refers to when cars have been tooo dressed up cosmetically to try and stand out, such as neon lighting, excessive body kits, alteezas, wings, angled fart cans, decals, etc. Body kits, when done tastefully, as in the picture above can improve the look and stance of a car. We all respect fast cars; I guess it is aggravating when people spend all of that money for cosmetic shit with no motor improvements and they think their car is the shit and fast when in fact, they are not. Rice is those who are all show and no go.

Not too big on the f/x on the t/a (on a Camaro I like them, though only with a single front piece - the split looks goofy IMO). I prefer the stock look, or lowered, as others have said, though it doesn't look bad. The lighted bird is kindof novel. Not sure I'd do it either, but I don't have a bird. As far as the vote, I go for #3.

I honestly like the oem Ground effects. For both camaros & birds. however WW isn't exactly what I like on the F-bodies. Just doesnt look flush to me. So I would say no go with the WW kit.

I hear ya. I've said it alot lately and i'll say it again, i've had just about enough of people on these ls1 boards calling "EVERYTHING" rice that isn' stock or popular. I can pull up at least 4 threads right now were some asshat is calling something rice that isn't. Show me the petition to ban the word rice, and i'll sign. Some things are a given like big mouth kits and huge wings. Other things are called rice when they should be simply called tacky or just plain ugly.
when i was looking for a new f-body, i went with a camaro instead of a TA due to the fact there were way more apperance options.

I love mine, but I feel the car needs to be lowered to look the right way w/ the factory groound effects. Car has Eibach Sportlines in pics, but now it has QA1's in front and stock springs w/ no isolators in back. Looks ok to me, but I had to do it.

I have a brand new WW TA kit sitting in my garage. Complete w/ wing, never installed, still in origional box. Was gonna put it on after I got my Incon kit, but i got fucked by them and and said screw the body kit till I have a motor to back it up. I'll entertain offers if you really gotta have it.
Personally I think if your gonna go the WW kit way, you need to spend the extra money and have it glassed to your car so it appears to be seamless. Theres a few pics floating around of a camalion color changing paint what ever the hell you call it TA w/ that done.... very sweet.
I'd probably call a car rice when it doesn't have a motor to backup its body/cockyness.
I used only the WW Front Ground effect on my WS6 - it brought the level of the front down to match the level of all the other factory ground effects on the car. I don't think it's 'rice' and apparently neither do a lot of other people based on the amount of 'Best of Show' and 'Best GM' trophies I have won with my car.
I didn't feel the car needed the side effects (as I agree they just look like stacked on items to factory effects) and I personally would never use their rear wing - but that's just my opinion. I never put down anything someone does to any car, I might not like it, but obviously they do, and in the end that's all that counts - cause it's your car.
If you want to see my car (well, at least what it looked like at the end of LAST season), just go to the Rock-On Transmission website - the Black WS6 on Dave's home page is my car...
wouldnt look so ghey if the body kit had all new bumpers, not tack on pieces with 3m tape that come off after winter, i have installed a few body kits like my truck ( www.cardomain.com/id/v8blakdak ) and nothing ever fits right, peices take alot of time to get right and are usually flimsy even after putting on extra brackets. i assume OEM G/E fit nicely but the RS G/E IMO is way too tacky. if u want a higher spoiler, get the SS spoiler. a lowered fbody looks better over one with a bodykit.
