The center console is not actually done yet. I have to wait for my redline stuff to finish it off. Once it's in the car, you won't be able to tell that it wasn't covered at the factory. The only area that MIGHT be questionable is the rear cupholders, and they will not be an issue once I get the sound system in. SO for me, it'll all work out perfectly.

Incredible work man, what literature did you read up on to learn how to do it? I'd like to do the same thing over the summer! Are you worried about the heat from the sun on the interior when you take the car out?

Mostly just what I learned here, and some tips from my sister-in-law who runs a clothing design and embroidery business. She has alot of experience with vinyl and leather so I WAS going to have her do the seams, but she was just too busy so i decided to do it.

I was worried about the sun before i did this, so yes i'm still worried. Sun is not good for leather or vinyl, period.

With any luck, everything will go together tomorrow, so I should have some great pics tomorrow night or saturday.

Ok got everything re-assembled today. What a pain. It's all assembled, but I had precious little time to do any cleaning or fine-tuning. So there are some areas i'm still going to work on, like the e-brake boot, which I am very dissapointed in. The shift boot, e-brake boot, and console lid are all Redline Goods products...the shift boot is a work of art, but the e-brake boot and console cover leave alot to be desired. So the e-brake boot will get alot more attention. Also everything needs to be cleaned real good, so these are just work-in-progress pictures to keep you folks happy...enjoy...

So what's your final conclusion on all the vinyl stuff you've wrapped? Would you recommend wrapping the dash to others? Or are you not satisfied with how it turned out, or what other conclusions have you come to?

Everything looks great man . I wish I could pull off the seams , its such a nice touch .

Question , where did u get the vinyl ? The grain pattern is about identical to pattern mercedes uses and exactly what Ive been looking for to wrap the upper dash in my SS .

About Alcantara for those that mentioned it ....its easy to work with but if your not a large wholesaler or have a business account with one its VERY hard to get in the United States . Its also quite a bit more expensive than real suede and real leather .

Of all the pieces, the gauge shroud was by far the toughest. You'll see how I did it when I finally get the write-up done, but I still wish I could find a better way. Maybe cutting the vinyl differently would help, because I ended up with way too much extra on the inside and that's why you see loose spots in the finished product. Doesn't really bother me because I can't even really see it while driving the car, but I still wish they weren't there.

The door panels were only hard because they had to be disassembled and re-assembled. Re-attaching the insert to the outer panel is not a fun thing to do. I ended up re-using the plastic tabs that i cut off...i just used an aircraft CA glue to re-attach them and it worked fine...but that was yet another pain-in-the-ass to add to the project.

The console requires alot of thought because there is no way to do it without at least two seams, so you really have to think about where you want the seams to end up. I put mine at each end because the front is hidden by the dash and the rear will be hidden by my extended floor/sub box setup that I am doing this summer.

I did not wrap the dash because I am quite happy with it. The new color nearly perfectly matches the dash, and my dash is in perfect shape yet, so I saw no reason to wrap it. I may have a shop do it and put some nice seams in there someday though.

Next phase will be the matching seat covers and i'll probably start on the extended floor and sound system...probably not until June though.

For those asking about the products I used...the vinyl is from Leatherseats, and I will be getting my seat covers from them too. They are very pricey, but i'm very happy with the product. I used 3M spray 80 as my adhesive, and in certain areas I also used plastic epoxy and aircraft CA.

How hard is it to do the red inserts in the door panel? I was thinking of doing red suede. I think it would look sweet
