The 99 cobras were an odd year you might say. They were rated at 320 hp, but routinely dynoed around 245-260 RWHP, or about the same as the 96-98 305 HP Cobras.

1999 Cobras had a PCM problem (maybe others?) & were fixed by Ford after a lawsuit was filed b/c they did not make advertised power.

They've all been recalled and fixed.

OK. I retract my previous statement. I know there was a big stink about it. I read an article about the 01s dynoing around 272 to the wheels. So if they fixed the problem I would assume the 99s would dyno the same.

There are guys on thirdgen.org that think they make more power than LS1s because of those factory numbers

That is a lot of torque, though.

How much power did the TTA have?

considering the 03 cobra needs a power adder just to keep up with a LS1 makes me laugh. at the track, my car with just convo pros and 4.10s, i was able to beat them all the time. even had one guy get pissed and told the officials that he was ahead of me at the end of the track. it was close but i was able to pull on the top end all the time. im keeping my LS1.

My first car was an 89 IROC-Z with the 350. It was very torquey out low, but it didn't breath well in the upper rpms. It's not even a close match for a LS1. I an excellent running one though *can* keep up up light to light, but that's about it.

As far as the TTA, it's had GN numbers I believe. I think they were running 13's stock. I forget.

supercharged cobras are nothing to laugh at. its hard to compare to an ls1 since their compression is about 8.5 : 1 as compared to an ls1's 10.xx:1..of course the cobras will be slower N/A. but the LS1 will never have what the cobras have from the factory and that is forged internals that can handle 800hp+. for the record 4.6s have gone faster than LS1s....
