Default Who's in here running a 4L60E?

Just curious how many of you with auto's are running the stock tranny (it can be built though) and not a T350/400. I just bought a 4L60E fully built and I hope to run a 10.20 or so and I am still worried about blowing it up.

get a temp gauge for it.. let her cool down. i mean i wouldn't abuse it hotlap after hotlap and then all the way home and back... it wont last very long, but if taken care of i dont see why they cant last.

mine lasted for a while cutting 1.50 60'. the only problem i had is the shift solenoid went out. With the right parts i've seen them go low tens on spray. They do tend to not hold up that long if you hotlap it all the time.

Mine went low 11s no problem. I decided to spray through the shifts for a few passes and it started slipping 2-3. I'll give it alittle refreshening this spring and see how things go.

My 98 has a Century built 4L60E. I had them refresh it 3 years ago and I`m having them do new clutches+ bands again for this season. That tranny has at least 600-700 runs on it in the last 5 years in the low 11s and high 10s. Also my 02 Formula has a stock 4L60 and it runs consistant 11.5-11.7. I think a big part of keeping them alive is changing the fluid every 4-5 months(80-100 runs), I use synthetic fluid + 1 bottle of Lucas Tranny Fix(for thickness) every change, per Ronnie at Century and several other race tranny builders that I have talked to at NHRA events.

I put down 410 to the wheels (on a blown torque converter ) and that car gets its guts kicked out. The only reason I had to rebuild the tranny (now good for up to 850 hp ) is because the converter leaked so bad. I'll never change it out... I'll run 10.50s all day on a built 10 bolt too.
