Default opened up a 2 yr old FLT trans :)

Before you see the pic.... just take into account that this trans was in a extended cab full size truck with a big converter, nitrous, cammed 5.3L then a forged Iron block 347 and a turbo.... It was serviced regularly but definitely used for what it was intended for... I hope its new owner gets lots of use out of it

What are you showing????
The bottom of a valvebody? Show the pan, especially the magnet where all the stuff collects, how about what the fluid looks like or dare I say what the clutches look like????
That would be more indicative of wear or lack of wear on a transmission, then the bottom of a valvebody.

theres some fluid, in there... the magnet had the normal bit of doo on it but nothing that was abnormal... less than the stock trans in my brothers stock 05 CC 5.3L truck after about the same mileage.... but whatever, its squeaky clean

Ben good to see you are stepping up your program with the truck. I really wish we had a chance to step that unit up a bit more for you! It would have been nice to see how far we could really push that thing with your new combo. None the less good to hear that the level 5 unit you purchased has served you well. I hope the new owner likes it and if he ever needs us we will be here for him as well. Thank you for your continued support. Vince

Here is a sneak peak at a couple of shafts I had planned in using in that unit.

I think silver-mod-o was just showing how nice it looked inside there. It's awesome when guys like what they see and get the results he has. I have pictures of new units built just like his with the valve body and internal harness assembled. It looks cool to some guys. Especially when it's new and fresh. As mentioned a picture of the pan or the internals would have been nice. However he sold this unit as a complete working unit. A picture of a pan is what it is depending on how often it was serviced. I know he had a bunch of extreme use on the unit, had been through a couple motors and converter swaps. I think the point of the thread was to say he was very happy with it and is upgrading to something bigger and badder! Good luck in the future! Vince

Thanks Vince, like I mentioned over on 'trucks, ill be getting with you in the near future...

For everyone else, yes, this trans shifted just like it did in March 07 when I put it in, when I took it out. The point of the pic was just that I liked what I saw even after the (ab)use this trans was subjected to. After 2 years it looked like it did after the first time I pulled the pan after about 3 or 4 months.

As far as the EPC goes, Vince did mention putting one back in if it came back to him. But the vacuum modulator setup has served me very well, I have loved how it shifted. Easy, around town, and just as firm as you mash the pedal if you chose to

As far as my next setup, that remains to be seen the trucks just sitting here as a rolling chassis at this point but parts are on the shelf in the shop

And as far as the PR comment goes... That was exactly my reason for posting this LOL, why else? I'm more than happy with the product so why not? I'm sure I'm not the first to post feedback after being satisfied with a purchase...

I can assure you, It was taken care of, but definitely put through its paces. Vince and the guys at FLT build a HELL of a transmission, I was going to have the billet shafts put in this one and putting it behind about 800fwhp, in about 4200#s of truck.... and REALLY see what it was made of, but I've just decided to have an 80 built for reliabilities sake. After a bunch of passes, any trans needs to be freshened up, but a properly 4L80E should be able to go longer between teardowns in my setup. Cost down the road was my main factor. it definitely wasnt the lack of faith in Vinces 60 to hold up to the torture
