Default Summit TH350 Transmission?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-700300

I searced but could not find anything, just trying to get some feedback on these. It will be behind a 5.3 with a cam (don't think it will hit 400hp). For the price it seems like its worth a try but don't want to waste $700 if someone has used one and it did't hold up.

Thanks

I'm pretty certain TCI is supplying those to Summit.
I've seen the inside of both several time.
They are nothing fancy.
A stock TH350 with the TCI valve body kit. IMO they are a $400 unit. Not even the hardened sprag race. The ones I have seen have come in for a blown up intermediate sprag.
I've also seen some parts worn beyond serviceability installed and they use the stock narrow direct drum bushing.
Pretty weak.

A TH350 doesn't need to be fancy to live at even 600 HP, some minor hydraulic mods, a 5 clutch direct, heat treated sprag race, new int roller clutch, wide direct drum bushing, double up the sun gear bushings, good pump tolerances and it'll live forever at 550-600 HP/TQ. BTDT.

However,
the small things I listed make it or break it.
That and an accumulated 1-2 shift.

IMO man...why cheat out on a couple hundred bucks when u have spent all the $$$ already?? Not worth it imo. Spend the extra lil bit and know for sure it will last. They aren't expensive so i wouldn't cheat it out.
Get back on the treefiddyz site ricer!!! LOL.
Gonna be a cool swap when completed, too bad i'm gonna have to pop that cherry....again!
