Default 6L80e strength & upgrades

Throwing an LS7 with a couple goodies into our '10 Camaro, which has the 6L80e, and I'm worried about the stock trans living: what are the limits of this trans, and who can make it live behind the LS7?

You could swap to the 6l90 same trans just has a higher input HP rating as well as thicker gears and parts. But its a little longer than the 80. But the stock 6l80 should handle it. You could always swap to the 6l90 later.

The CTS-V with the supercharged LSA 6.2L run the 6l90 BTW.

6l80
Maximum engine power: 469 bhp ( 349 kW )
Maximum engine torque: 439 lb-ft ( 595 Nm )
Gear box torque max 664 lb-ft ( 900 Nm )

6l90
Maximum engine power:555 bhp
Maximum engine torque: 550 lb-ft
Gear box torque max 885 lb-ft ( 1200 Nm )

i burnt my 4, 5 and 6 on the 6l80e... reason being a 5000lb+ truck revving to 6,500rpm... the lower gears seem almost indestructable.. just the higher ones seem a little weak... learnt my mistake, will be changing gears at around 5500-5800 next time around
