a good spot to mount the cooler is under the front nose, inbetween the air deflector and bumper bracket, over towards the passenger side. Fluidyne make a trick unit. pull one of the bolts out the the air deflector, mout one side of the cooler, then mount the other side to the bumper bracket. That way air hits the deflector and goes right up thru the cooler.

Seems like your tranny builder would've recommended an after market cooler, especially with that kind of stall.

A tranny cooler mounted "dope" style and a deep, finned pan kept my stock 4L60E alive for 92k miles, the last 25K+ Procharged with a 3500 stall and 440rwhp. Was still working fine when we pulled it out a month ago and installed my new Extreme Transmissions 4L65E
