Default Can you flush/clean a torque converter?

My tranny on my work truck ran low on fluid and lost 3rd and 4th today. I've got a good tranny to replace it, but no torque converter. I NEED to replace this trans this weekend to be back on the road on Monday.

I've always been told to replace the TC when replacing the trans, but I don't have one and don't know of where I can get one on a Saturday or Sunday. Any ideas???

If the fluid is clean with no debris in it I would say to use it!
but if matter is in the fluid the only way to remove it would be to cut and clean the converter

I had a local tranny shop flush a convertor. they drilled and tapped a hole in the lower part of the convertor, Flushed it and and then stuck an allen head pipe plug in the hole, i guess it work it lasted for 15,000 miles.
