I don't know if the 4l60e use the same bolts as a t56, but mine ended up using two big extensions and a swivel to remove the top bolts, and to bolt in the top three with the th350. It's gonna be rough, prepare to use a few bad words

used the bad words already, just cant get the lift off the extensions on to the bolt on top dead center. ima go buy 2 lonnnng extensions instead of 30 billion short ones.

Make sure the engine tilts back as far as possible. If you have the stock exhaust the pass side cat should be touching the frame.

why the engine tilting back? ill put a jack on front of engine to get it to tilt a bit. the stock exhaust is no more. i got LT headers w/ 3 inch exhaust all the way back. took the exhaust off to do this already.

for real?
i'm pulling a t-56 off my 99camaro and i can get the upper bolt on driver side but no pass side. did you just use the extensions from the very back of the trans where the driveshaft goes in?

Some people don't put those 2 back in but each to his own. I just pulled my 400 out the other day and I will say this the prothane motor mounts will keep the transmission from tilting back, way better then stock. The trans only moved down maybe a 1/2 inch. I was trying to figure that one out for a little bit lol.

put a floor jack with a block of wood under the trans pan. Remove the crossmember and drop it down some. i use a 3/8 to 1/2 36' Extension with 15mm swivel socket. if you dont put those top bolts in you are rollin the dice....

Don't know about the ls1's but on my lt1 car I removed the top bolts from under the hood. A flexhead gearwrench made it easy. I know ls1'sl have one missing on the passenger top side but maybe it'll work. Of the two lower bolts on the passenger side the top one was a PITA.
