A complete fill, converter and a dry trans is 11 quarts. 5 with just a filter change.

I just used Chevron brand Dex-3/merc conventional fluid the last time I dropped the pan and changed the filter.Noticed a better shift smoothness when the trans is warmed up.

I was told Royal Purple was great stuff and i use it in my rear end and love it. My A4 460le is completly stock. Any other takers on royal purple ? is it worth $10 a quart ?

I use the cheap dex or whatever its called in my stock tranny. When it gets rebuilt im going to use Amsoil since I work with a firefighter that's a rep.
