The clunk is the bushing on the front of the carrier- They'll pop a new one in there and you're good. It's not a safety issue, you're not going to die and the sky is not falling. I promise.

Yet another example of the Internet creating hysteria.

sounds like its time for me to get a new bushing to, does the BMR pinion support stop them from going bad??

No- there's been plenty of people with BMR or KARS kits that still need the bushing replaced. Neither of those kits will keep the rear from breaking at the dragstrip, either. Their sole purpose is to eliminate wheel hop.

Probably about 2 months cause you will go thru a bunch of hassle of how it is your fault and that they wont cover it.

We arent supposed to drive our cars....

Hopefully i am wrong, but depending on the dealer/service writer, it may be a while. Just copy lots of website pages that talk about failures and give them the print offs of the investigation stuff and hopefully they will take care of you..

It sucks when we have a complete warrenty on a car and they wont cover the thing when it is a stock vehicle....

WOW so they are going to fix it for you.. At least they are doing that.

You dont like the Srx? I love mine. I put all stsV stuff on it, motor, rims, brakes, steering wheel, dash ect. . Everything bolts right up to them. Nothing like All wheel drive 4.4L with boost caddy. It fells just like a ctsv.. Still havent had any drive train issues with the srx either....

Count me in as of last week i was pulling up an onramp past a car and hit third gear then came a pop the rear tires backscratched and then a good two hundred yard free roll accross three lanes of traffic in a 60mph zone with no acceleration power and no cell phone. thank god im the only black V in asheville my freinds spotted me and turned around. My local dealership said it was owner abuse and they would not cover under warranty. i called cadillac and supposedly an area rep is comming to check it out but that is probably his response as well.

In 2006, Caddy upgraded the diff and half-shafts.
You probably received such, as this is the only unit in stock.
Your half-shafts were probably not replaced, unless there was a problem with them.
2006 unit should last unless you plan on visiting Mod Hell.

So you are saying the 06/07 shouldn't have a problem?? I want to buy a 05 before the engine swap to 6.0 (based on previous information). I guess I will make sure the diff was replaced before I purchased. Thanks for the info...

I'm the second owner of mine and had the rear end replaced under warranty. You should have raised some hell about that. The factory warranty is transferable so you should have been covered.
