overall average is 11 to 12ish
But it was considerably better before the ProCharger & headers, But it's just Sooooo hard not to play with 508 whp, And the more you play the lower the average goes. I think my overall average was about 14-15ish before
the procharger

Fifty-five mile commute at the speed limit with 75% highway 26 MPG on the DIC. For hundreds of mile trips I'll see 30 MPG on the dot. Which is the same when figured on paper. GM aftermarket wheel with Michelin Pilot A/S with a 6 lbs. savings each over the stock. Tire pressures at 37-38 cold to avoid TPS warning when warm. HPTuners no torque management and psuedo lean cruise fooling the O2 sensors.

At 80% highway/20% city, I get about 21.5 mpg (calculated from fill to fill, the old fashioned way). That's with about an 1800-2000 cruise rpm and the A/C on.
On a 50% highway/50% city tank, it will get about 17.5-18.5 mpg, more biased to the 17.5 side with A/C usage.
Both of the above are when driven conservatively. The around town mpg, when driven aggressively, can be pretty grim (around 10-12 mpg).
I also forgot to mention that these figures are for an LS7. The LS6 was a little less around town (heavier throttle for same results) and about the same on the road. You can't get too throttle-heavy in town now, because the car gets real rude, real quick (read: Gestapo magnet).
I had an '02 Trailblazer with a 4.2 six and overall either of the V engines produce a better average on gas consumption. A lot has to do with the transmission. Unless the clutch is in, there is a positive lock from the crank to the tires. Ask you buddy about the mileage he gets with his 3400 rpm stall converter!
