I expected to have my 99 away already but delayed installation of my new 4l80 meant JUST HAD to test it out and then the weather last few days has been amazingly freaky nice. Bet it set some records.
So put away wifes 96z but going to drive the 99 a bit more weather permitting.
My season is just starting. My car is going to the strip this weekend and hopefully a track day to test the brakes and suspension the following weekend. They are calling for 13 degrees this weekend. Sunday is looking good for TMP. Who is coming?
I will put it away when they pull it from my cold frozen fingers!
good to see you got that project to work out...I might head up next weekend
I wanna see you put down some good numbers with the setup...

The numbers were a big disappointment. The clutch seemed to be slipping at the top end. I was seeing my shift light at 1200ft and that should have been 128mph. I was trapping 119-121. My light should be very accurate too as it is tied directly to the Big Stuff output. So my best was only a 11.7@121. I made 4 passes as I became suspect of the clutch on the 2nd pass and used them to make sure.
I need to pull the clutch and adjust the fingers to lower the clutch engagement.
The driveability is just amazing though. No bucking or anything at 1450 in 6th gear. Really nice to drive. It is really quiet too with a very smooth idle that seemd to surprise people when I told them it had a 260 cam in it.
Your car looks unbelievable with the CCW's on it Dale. Didn't you say something about being down on power with the harrop over the single plane? I remember at Addison you saying it was going to get pulled off and ported. As for driveability, I thought it had a 240 cam in it when I saw it, even with the idle! Didn't know the ITB's could calm down a 260 cam that much.

The carbed single plane made 626fwhp 600fwtq, the Harrop made 631fwhp and 646fwtq.
We are going to port the living pee out the intake over the winter. The cam is a 259/266 .648/.648 112+ 4 by Cammotion and it is amazing what the idle is like and still do not have a functioning IAC, it never stalls on coast down either. I am not sure why it works but it works. The dead IAC does cause some starting issues. Once it catches it really needs the extra air and it is not there. So I have to feather the throttle for 30-40 secs till it starts to warm the chamber. It idles rough at 700-800rpm and as it warms up the idle climbs to 950.
I will get that sorted over the winter too. Right now I just want to enjoy it for the few weeks or days I have left before the hibernation. :-)
