Default Question about LT1 oil pressure ports

Above the oil filter on a LT1 there are two ports, the one right above the filter I've been told and am intending to use for a pressure sensor. Wondered if someone could tell me what the one just above that is for (looks about the same size, right now is open and I don't remember if I removed a plug or not) the engine has not been run since rebuilding (which has been almost two years) and leads to my next concern; should I do anything special, as far as lubrication before attempting to crank (assembly lube was used on all parts during rebuild).
