| My v6 camaro is growing on me... i bought a 99 y87 v6 camaro back in april, at the time gas was about 3.80-somethin' for premium in NY, nd i had it all summer long (t-tops were down all the time babyy!). Idk wut to do just for the simple fact that... ITS A 6 CYLINDER! thinking about keeping it until i have enuff money to make it into my LSX powered street/strip car...
idk wut it is about the damn car.. im in love lol.. its either that or just the fact of having some fart cannon exhaust having, weed wacker sounding, fast-and-the-furious bullcrap civic (or alike import) just makes me sick..
i mean i need da added space, but hey theres been times where my car has been packed with 6 people. BTW im going to college in janurary nd i think i might need sumthing roomer and more economical, wut do u guys think?? |

| When you go into college you should look into a Ford Escape.
I mean, no offense, but I'd rather take the bus than drive a 6 cylinder F-body or Mustang. Having a car that looks fast but can't back it up puts you in the same league as the 'Imports...

| I'm in college and have a 6 cylinder Camaro. You can be surprised how much crap you can stuff inside these cars if you get a little creative on your use of space Quote:

To be honest the one thing that annoys me about this place is some people's superiority complex. "V8 or it is worthless" yes I know this is called LS1tech for a reason. But some of us love these fbodies yet couldn't afford the LS1 so we got what we could. And a lot of people here who have an LS1 now started with a V6 fbody first.

| You're in no place to talk crap about the "imports". As for ricers, they come from both the import and domestic scene. I'd say save up if you don't have enough right now, and go ahead and get the LS1 fbody as soon as you can while gas is still barely over $2 a gallon, I'm also hearing that the LS1 is capable of being more economical than the 3.8 anyway... especially when paired with the 6speed. Note that I said "capable" lol. It's mostly in how you drive it of course.

I've seen many domestic owners run their mouths to evos and stis and then all they see is taillights cuz they forgot their car was stock. Although , it's usually the other way around haha |

My 3.8L A4 gets 26 average mostly highway with some stop and go mixed in (such as traffic jams on the way back from work ). I squeaked out almost 29 once. If you are easy on the gas pedal on an LS1 M6 you can get at least what I get if not better on the highway.

| I think you should start by taking college English 101! lol I wouldn't waste the money on the V6 to LS1 swap. Just buy a Z28 or SS Camaro. Gas mileage in a M6 LS1 isn't too bad...

| Don't waste your $$ doing an LS1 swap. Sell your V6 and pick up a 99 Z28 for $5000. If you get an M6 your gas mileage isn't gonna really change much.
Think of it like this: If you love your V6 sooo much, imagine how you would feel having the LS1.

Also, about the whole mileage thing, I get 30+mpg on the highway, I know of many V6s and I4s that get the same. Given that I have 3 times the power that they do I am happy with that.
X2 on the OP needing to learn how to type (I'm typing this in between class and I don't have a problem with it).
