| Stock for Stock who could I beat.... Hey Guys,
Just wondering I have a 2000 chevy camaro convertible z28... Not much done to it except for the SLP lid, free ram air mod and that's about it. 2.73 or 2.79s in the rear (always get those confused) and an A4 transmission. Who could I beat stock. The only car I have really gone up against was a C5 vette (stock, automatic)from a dead stop to 70 and I was about a fender ahead of him. Could I beat:
1. A Mach 1
2. A 3000gt vr4
3. A Newer Mustang GT
4. A GTO (because they are heavier)
5. AN SSR
6. And all of the rice fields (Add the usual bolt ons for them).
I don't mind losing, but I don't want to look like a fool either...Once again I know people do things to their cars and won't tell you but STOCK for STOCK who would come out on top....

| 1,2, and 4 will give you some trouble. Ask me how I know. 1 and 2 are drivers races. 4 will never leave more than a 1/2 car behind. |

| If you can beat a C5 Vett stock for stock you can beat any of the cars you have listed.

The Mach 1 and new GT would be a good race, you'd probably win. You'd probably take an LS1 GTO, but not an LS2. The others are easy kills except for newer EVO's and STI's.
Race them and find out for sure.

It had a twin turbo 3.6 with a ZF gearbox out off a 1990 Corvette ZR-1 and produced 377 hp and 419 ft-lb They said it would do 0-60 in 5.2 sec and have a top speed off 177mph but its all total bullshit it weighed nearly 4000 1b and is shaped like a brick and it cost £48000 - $79000 new.

| Maybe it's just me but I'm wondering how in the world you took a C5 with your mods?? There's already a substantial weight difference, then add to that the fact that you're a vert which widens the margin even more. And from a highway roll too.... Maybe the low rear end gear helped you out enough to get past him. Other than that that didn't add up to me.
As for the rest...
1. Should be fine
2. Should be fine
3. Really depends on the day I'd say. Since you're a stock A4 I'd say if you run across one of the manuals he might give you some trouble. Roommate in college had one. They are respectible cars.
4. 04's yes/ 05/06 with the 400 horse LS2 not going to happen. This is the fastest car on your list.
5. No problem
6. 90% No problem with the exceptions mainly going to the STI's and Evolutions. Yes guys, even though they are rice they are and can be very impressive.
Oh and I don't remember who said that our cars can take the GT500 but lol.... Just lol....

| Well a Mach 1 with a good driver will be a good race. A LS2 GTO will beat you. You have 2.73 gears and since you have a vert you are heavy to. GT500

| Don't know what to tell you it was my dad's 1999 vette both automatic, his is a coupe and mine a convertible. the vette has 70,000 on it, could that make the difference? We went from 0 to 70 for safety reasons, but I think he was starting to come back on me. It's funny both cars shifted at about the same time I got him in the higher rpms in 1st, kept it in second and into third. Can't remember if we shifted into forth, it was a long time ago. Neither one of use shifted manually. Correct me if I'm wrong but the automatics shift so well now that it is pretty much a waste of time to manually shift an automatic. |
