Nice! Good work man. I applaud your patience. I did my swap in around 3months...and I was going crazy during that short amount of time. I have zero patience haha.

You did the same thing that I did with the fuel tank wiring/connectors. Makes hooking up the tank soooo much easier doesnt it? Plus if you ever need to drop the tank, it unhooks just like it did in the 4th gen. Easy...

Good luck gettin the rest done! Any projections on when you are gonna try to fire her up??

Justin

Every time I set a projected date , I miss it. I've made a point to work on it every day, though in the last month. I've been cleaning and painting parts for the firewall . Hopefuly I'll be able to get it done soon.

The car has spent it's life in a garage so nothing needed to be replaced. I redid the floorpans because of light rust forming on them but nothing was even close to being really nasty. It only had 105, 000 miles on it when I tore it apart.

That's awesome man, that's going to be one of the nicest f-bodies out there. I always figure on doing similar with mine someday. I put alot of miles though, but I'm hoping to keep it alive and better and better for a ridiculous amount of miles though like half a mil maybe more. 40k in 2 years so far. Not sure if it's realistic, but why not. Like you say, if you garage it and keep the salt off it, it should take forever to rust out. I should really get sfc's soon. Sorry for the rambling, what I meant to write was awesome job doing it and showing what can be done if you set your mind to it.

Well, the car is now officialy a manual trans car. Painted and bolted up the vacuum booster and pedals.Outside:

If you look underneath the booster , you can see the McLeod clutch slave cylinder peeking out.

4th but they fit just fine, you just need to drill the firewall mounting holes on the bracket out a bit bigger.

Just set in the BeCool radiator/twin fan set up, SLP MAF , and the AEM 2004 GTO cold air intake. Thunder Racing has these in a sliver or a polished. By now , you've probably figured out I like shiny chromy things so my choice was pretty obvious . You have to make a mounting tab for the CAI but no biggie. Also , the stock TPI air intake is pretty restrictive so you Z28/IROC-Z swappers don't want to adapt that.

Are you using the 4th gen brakes too? Is it possible to put the ABS system on a 3rd gen if you're using the 4th gen brakes?

I suppose you could if you wanted to. I'm using the 4th gen pedals, 3rd gen master cyl , proportioning valve and the Baer Touring kit which is essentially C4 Corvette brakes .If you used a 4th gen rear , adapted spindles for 4th gen front brakes, wiring and control module , you could use the ABS setup. I don't really care for ABS , it can do some strange things in rain and whatnot plus it's something else to cost you money on upkeep.
