Had to go back to work but I'll be starting in it again this weekend . The next thing is to remove the stock gas tank and old brake lines/fuel lines. . I think I will have to retain the stock sending unit as I'm not sure if the one from the '99 fuel tank will be compatible or not. The instrument cluster on '99 up is serial data and I'm not using the BCM.

Had a little time today so I crawled under the car and removed the old gas tank. I'm using the one out of the '99 as it has the correct lines ( I got those too so I won't have to fab anything up , hopefully.) The '99 is the same shape and pretty close size wise. I will have to trim the rubber filler neck a bit but no biggie. Here's a pic of the two tanks. The '99 tank is on the bottom.

Got most of the engine bay stripped and removed the auto shifter and pedals. The LS1 pedal brackets match except for the gas pedal . In this pic , you see the LS1 pedals on the left (obviously because they are for a manual ) and the 3rd gen auto pedals on the right. I will have to cut off the gas pedal bracket and discard it . It's ok because the 3rd gen will work just fine. I will need to use the LS1 throttle cable .

Took these two pics just to give you an idea of how out of control I went on buying new parts and I ordered more stuff that hasn't made it here yet!

Have you done the rear yet? I have the same 3.73 set up. Done by Hawks. Bruce tried to get me to go for the 4.10 gears. I wouldn't do it. I thought they were too deep. Now I wish I did. The six speed will handle it no problem.

How are you going to strengthen the frame of the car? I know that 3rd gen Camaros don't have the strongest body, and it will twist with too muh power. I know that verts are even worse about it.

I have subframe connectors of the weld-on flavor, also I will be using a TDS steering brace which is vastly stiffer & stronger than the IROC wonderbar. BTW , welcome to the board Josh!Glad to see you made it over from Camarosource!

Badjuju, Don't forget the strut tower brace. The one for TBI/carb from Edelbrock will fit over the LS1. It will also cut down the cowl shake. Our cars will almost be twins when your done. What color blue is your car? Mine is Gran sport blue used by GM on the 94-96 vette. We should get them together n ext summer. Maybe the east coast F body nats in N.J.

Last weekend , my intake manifold gasket took a nosedive on the S10 , spent most of the daylight replacing it. However , I got the MSD coils and a set of billet fuel rails. Gonna order the Harlan Sharp roller rocker arms for it tommorrow and hopefully pick up the 10 bolt. The guy swears it will be readsy Friday. This weekend's goal is to get the engine bay and undercarriage cleaned and painted so I can start reassembly. The truck really messed me up last weekend. l

I hope you meet your goals this weekend. Next weekend might be a little hard to get work done. You are just gonna have to drive your car back up to Calvert sometime when you get her finished.

The 10 bolt is here! Pics will be forthcoming.I also had a discussion with a tech at Aeromotive and I need to change my fuel system from a "returnless' to a return system to properly get the most out of it. So I gotta redesign the fuel line plan.We figured out a way to do just that. I'll post more on this a bit later.
