Sorry single throttle bodies only. Let's say you wanted to build a 500 inch combo that's 8.5 pounds per inch over 470=255 pounds making your total minimum at 3705. exceeding the SFI/NHRA chassis certification making this combo ineligable to compete.

Interesting.
So the SFI/NHRA maximum weight is actually determining the maximum displacement of the engine for the class?

So can I assume that 3700 lbs. is the most that a car can weigh?
This is very interesting, I have never heard of this before in slower classes?
(Only in the very fast classes like Pro Mod & Pro Street etc...because
the driver would have trouble slowing a heavy car down from 200 plus mph)

Not to go off topic, but then there must be a limit for heavy cars in True Street too?
Like a 3800 lb. 8 second, turbo GTO would actually be illegal?

I guess this is all in the NHRA rule book?

Thanks Jeff, I would suspect that most people don't know this.

only SFI 25.x have weight limititations of 3600 lbs. pretty sure sportsman cages can weigh more and go as fast as 8.50...

Why no front facing scoops? Seems as though there were several aftermarket ws6 style hoods in the past with front facing scoops. I just got a new hood for carb clearance, and I would hate to not be able to run in October because of it. Local n/a racing series allows front facing scoops, limiting us to a 5" high opening from the base of the hood.

It means no prostock style hood scoops, any thing factory, like a SS hood scoop or a WS6 ram air should be fine.

What suspension are you going to allow as a replacement for the factory swing arm rears in GTO's etc? Will you allow anything that the NHRA will allow in a Stocker? Without a weight penalty?

I see you still don't have a weight break for 346 ci motors.

Take Care,

Daren

Looks like a few questions here I cannot answer. I will ask an NMCA rep to address them.

If your car does not fit within the rules of the class you cannot run in the class. You still have plenty of time to make the changes to the car to be legal for the class.

So you cant certify a 500 cube engined car because it has to weigh 3705, well i guess i wont be able to run the all motor class in the future years. I hope you guys decide to change these weight rules before i get the engine in.

A horn and push button will cost a whopping $20.00 at Autozone. Or you could do what we do and buy a handheld air horn and put it in the door pocket. When they ask for the horn then hang it out the window and push the trigger.

The window tint deal is for safety so the starter can see that you have all you equipment on.
