Default custom headers/ o2 bung location?

i had a set of custom headers built for my lsx vega that i do not have a o2 bung welded in. i want to send the headers away to be coated but i was wondering if i should have them put in the collector or if i can have them in the downpipes off of the collectors?(like 2-3 inches from the collector) the car will be a street strip car and will need to be tuned for nitrous.

yeah you can put them in the collector. the stainless works ones come with the bungs welded into the slip on extensions, and i put mine on my fox in the pipe just after the colector also. and if you donr have your bungs yet , i found a really cheap way top make them.

use spark plug anti foulers from any parts store. they come in a 2 pack for 5 bucks and if you cut them at the end you have a bung and if you weld the small end shut you have a plug. 2 plugs and 2 bungs for 5 bucks.
