Default New Pickup Tube Girdle for LSX engines from BRP

BRP Hot Rods is proud to introduce the oil pan girdle for the 00+ GM oil pickup tubes (Patent Pending). This is designed for any pickup tube that has the tab attached to the tube. It has been tested on LH8, CTS-V, Truck and 00+ F-Body oil pans without any issues. Anyone who has changed the oil pan on a LS engine knows how easy it is to pinch the O-Ring and cause a pressure leak in the motor. All GM oil pumps feature two mounting bolts but only use one in all OEM applications. This simple girdle slides over the pickup tube to allow for a secure seal of the o-ring. Getting a solid seal on the pick up tube ensures adequate oil pressure when initially cranking the LS engine and through the engines life.

Shown is the OEM tab seal being broken with a ball point pin. This simple girdle could save your motors life for only 19.95.

Kit includes the BRP oil girdle with aircraft grade bolts and washers.

Call BRP for more info the first batch will be available by the end of December

Damn!!! I just had my motor out and apart a couple weeks ago. This is a great idea.
I did torque and lock- tight my single factory bolt, but this is better.

It’s great to hear a good response! We released it at SEMA and think its going to be a great safety for any LSX engine build.

Good post. Thanks. Is the 2nd hole already drilled and tapped for the bolt?

Dang....I guess they saved 50 cents on the flange.

Suggestion... supply drilled holes in the bolt heads for safety wiring !

Both bolt holes are tapped on all pumps and all you have to do is slide it over your existing tube and bolt it in place.

Ill look into safety wiring bolts as a option but the first batch of a 100 I have been manufactured will be as the photos show.

It is a good idea but are you breaking that seal while the pickup tube leg is bolted to the main cap because I dont see how that is possible.

Bolt info

6mX20
Zinc Hex
Flanged bolts not in pic but will now be in all production kits.
8.8 grade
Contrast vibration protections in cast iron

The seal was broken with a ball point pen while the tab was bolted down if you look at the photo you can see the OEM bolt locked in place.

I meant the nut that secures the tube to the main cap. Not the one on the pump.

Its not on the site yet ether call or send me a PM and i can shoot out paypal invoices.

We have updated the design and all girdles now shipped with a curved lip for clearance with the timing chains and covers.

Here is a photo, early girdles might need slight smoothing to fit.

Also the bolt on the main cap was tight when the pen lifted up the tab, I have spoke with Mast Motorsports who ran a LS engine with a 5 gallon bucket of oil and the pan removed and the oil pick up tube properly sealed yet it still was squirting oil out where the pen is being shown. Let me know if this is what you’re asking about or feel free to give us a call.
