No news right now. Shop customers have been taking up all availible time right now. I have the front cross member all cut out and ready for welding. Then I can install the motor mounts and trans mounts. Hopefully soon!
Alright, I know I suck cause its been a while since the last up date. Here is shots of the motor mounts I made up and the front cross member. I started on the serp belt system as well. The idler is from a 1LE air pump delete with a pulley from a 4.3l A/C delete that has ribs. Just drill the threads out of the holes and bolt it to the head with some spacers. it actually touches the water pump and that acts like a support.
And here is some of the stuff that "got in the way". Headers for the willy's 2 1/8" primaries with 3 1/2" collectors. The 55 actually has a 383 and a TH700R4 in it. Just had to do some maintainece on it for the up coming driving seasn. Already has 3K miles on it since completion last summer.
I will get pics of the rear end housing and Moser axles that is done. The tranny crossmember is all done as well. The motor and trans are all mounted. Started on the front suspension. Cheers!

The front suspension is from left over parts of another project. It is a 3rd gen camaro struts with a coil over set up. Manual rack with custom a arms.

EXCELLENT CHOICE! Great to see another 610 salvaged from the crusher!
The avatar is my 73 SSS that came with dual side draft carbs!!
Here are some super nice 610 drag and rally cars to check out for inspiration on your build! Also lots more on the Ratsun site in the 610's unite section started by Bonvo! Check it out! You won't be dissapointed!!
610 dragsters with full wheel stands and rally 610's flyin thru air!! Also great pics of the historic Bob Sharp Racing 33 car that won 1st place in the Sports Car Club of America back in 76! The late Paul Newman once raced the number 33 for Bob Sharp as well. 610's also competed in the Trans Am series, 2.5 litre and under division. And lastly but not least, lots of cool street machines and resto mods!!
Cool. Thanks for the info. Not much out there really unless you know where to look. I will update with photos this week end as I have been busy screwing up and fixing the front suspension. Cheers.
Where the hell did the summer go?! Well I have been busy doing other crap like building a life size moose out of 1/4" plate steel for a sporting goods store, building motors for other customers, and various uncool repair work. I did however get the front suspension in the drivers side. I need to fire whom ever did my measuring as I came up with +7 deg of camber! Hum! That won,t work. So I cut the strut tower completely out of the passengers side, moved it in 3" and back 1" and viola! I have correct camber and caster again. Now I just have to cut out the drivers side and redo it as well. I made up some coil pack brackets so I can hide the coils esle where. Notched the front frame so the radiator sits down where it should. And thats as far as it has gotten. This thread is probably dead but who cares, I like it! I will put up pics good and bad of my suspension fiasco.
Ok so here are some pics for my amusement as this thread is going nowhere fast due to my lazy work ethic. The front crossmember that I fabbed up on the plasma cutter.
My screwed up cmaber. Whos the idiot that measured this! + 7 deg of camber is unacceptable
The old set up for the strut top. The fixed bearing won't work either as the center line of the strut and ball joint don't line up. Had to go to a spherical thrust bearing.
New strut tower after moving it in 3 " and back 1". Now I have 0* camber and 4.5* caster.
A shot of the new radius rod and control arm.
