4.3 is the same as small block chevy. So yes. Only one bolt hole will not bolt up. (dont worry they are all like that LS motor just dont have bolt). You will need different flywheel and spacer. you can buy them from summit ... I got mine from HUGHES

I have a 98 V6 Camaro, I wll definitely look into a 5.3 base now. I wanted to know what about the engine cradle will that have to be changed, as well as the harness, I have a automatic trans from a 00 camaro that should bolt right up ? If its not to much trouble could I get more detailed list, I have copied the one from the post but if thats all I need than dont worry. And as far as the comuter goes will getting it flashed be ok or will I need a to swap it as well.

It will not bolt up to a 3.8 tranny...

Great write up! Just a few questions. I am currently gathering parts for 2 ls swaps, one into a 96 silverado and the other a 91 Mustang notch, both will be starting with 5.3's and going with the bore to make them 5.7 with forged internals. Both will also be using 4l60's.
I've been searching and I'm having the most trouble finding info on the Ls/mustang swap? Anybody care to drop a link to some info it would be much appreciated.
Biggest question I have on the truck swap is motor mounts and exhaust manifolds, will the stock mounts work? Does anyone make LT headers for this swap or can I make the 99+ Lt's work?

We are doing this swap on my buddies 91 GT. We are going to weld the factory truck mounts to the mustang frame. Some people like to swap to the 96-99 4.6 factory k-member, other buy the tubular k-member (about $250).... all of these options can work. We are just on the cheap.
We are using C5 manifolds... which also clear and flow really good. Dont know anything about if the truck manifolds will clear? By looks I would say so though...
BTW usually people use the F-body oil pan on Fox body stangs... but we are using the Truck pan... same pan however it is about 1.5 inch deeper.... so ground clearance is low... no lower cars... No WHEEL STANDS

I just wanna add a little bit of style and maybe a tiny bit of power by swapping my factory truck intake for the ls1 style. Can i do that (properly) without adding anything else, and will it run right without tuning?

The car injectors are higher lbs/ hr so it needs tuned to correct that with at least a stock car tune. The truck injectors are too short to fit the car intake.
im doing a 6.0. which intake should i use between the LS1, LS2, or LS6. im wanting close to 500hp out of it, and looking for the best bang for my buck.
basically stick to the 99-04 ish ones, at some point (maybe someone will chime in) they went to throttle by wire, but that doesn't matter much, you can get a cable throttle body, especially if you are switching to a car intake. The newest ones have made some changes, but by sticking to the years listed they are all pretty much the same. Don't be afraid to buy one with some miles either, these things go to 200k easily. Look on ebay at the newer trucks, there are a bunch with over 200k on them and read the writeups about them, most say they have never done any engine work at all.
so, the basic difference between the LM7 and LQ4 is the LM7 has drive-by-wire? I have found a couple of LM7s locally for cheap but want to make sure the rotating assembly is still the same. I'm doing forged internals, so that's not an issue.
