Metco Driveshaft Loop.

Since i have the swap in my car the loop had to be spaced down for clearance but my buddy got GN and fits perfect.

Hard to tell from that pic but that driveshaft loop doesn't look like it will be good enough for safety. It's too close to the yoke, it needs to be 6" from the yoke. I tried putting on the Metco also and it just wasn't going to cut it. There is a guy that makes a set back loop just for the 700r4/4L60E. Only problem is he seems to be short on material to make it. I may have to get a custom one built somewhere.

Well I have a cage going into the car in a month, the guy who is doing it might start making some custom fit parts from chrome moly.

Precision Race Cars.

They are just opening back up and building a low 6 sec chevelle and i do alot of photo and video for them once they are up and operating. I could have him make something of a bolt indesign with a set-back.

RAlph

This Metco one is NHRA/IHRA approved design

Oil Pressure Passages for hooking up sensors or pressure gauges.

1. Behind intake on back rear of block

2. Drill and tap the the oil cooler block off cover for 1/8 NPT

3. Allen Key block off plug on bottom of block by oil cooler attachment

4. Allen Key Block off plug on Driver Side front of Block by timing cover.

Just in case anyone is looking for them or like me needs 2 ports for pressure sources.

Finally Getting more progress.

Hurt my shoulder 4 or 5 weeks ago and still nursing it but can use 2 arms again.

Finish up some wiring then start it up and rumble the neighborhood.

Digital Dash is mounted and firmly secured. Just gotta splice a few more together and zoom zoom.

Next car will be going to Precision Fabrication by Joe Gambino in Toms River, NJ, he will be installing new floor pans -- seat mounts -- console mounts and shifter mount.

In another month it should be ready for anti-rollbar and 6 point chrome moly cage.

Pictures will up by the weekend.

Well Today we finally finished up the wiring. Dakota Digital Dash is 75% wired, ECM and harness is finshed, still need electric Fans to keep it cool but she started up on the first try. Gotta raise up the idle which is only 400 rpm.

Here is the video of the dash and the car running.

I can't believe I missed this thread. I'm a big fan of the G body cars; having owned a 79' boo and several Grand Nationals and T Types. Very nice build!

It had plans to be there, just as a project. Well since the rain ruined our plans now.

Hopefully we get the floorpans installed before the Nov Rental, then i can get the exhaust installed 3" all the way back, seats will then get mounted and then maybe have the cage in it by then.

Funds have ran out a bit, so its digging to try and get alittle bit done at a time.
