Here are a few pictures of our project.
It is running but there are few things that needs to be sorted out.
This RX-8 had a blown engine so this swap was the most obvious thing to do.
The engine comes out of a 2004 GTO.

We drove it for the first time yesterday.
It has plenty of power
The gearing is very low, we are using the stock 4,44 differential.
First gear is almost useless.
We are using a Camaro steering rack and oil pan.
And there are no gauges yet, the 8 uses CAN bus cluster so I think it is impossible to use it with this setup.

My 350z uses the same setup and Im using a CAN gateway. As much as I dont want to say this you should contact Hinson Super cars and see if they can help.

You are using the LS2 wich has a CAN bus system, right ?
Sweet! I have been waiting to see somebody do this for years...
Same here! This is indeed an obvious swap, hope you can kit this. This thing handles and has a useful back seat. May want to do something about the gearing to make first gear workable. The GTO tranny has different ratios, so that's only making first worse.

Yes. But im not using the CAN lines for the readings. My speedo setup is independent. It takes readings right off the rear end. The tach had to be spliced in using the Can gateway though.
