Default Truck engine into G Body- Will the alternator clear the hood?

For you G-Body conversion experts, will the alternator setup on a truck clear the hood?

Or do you need a Vette/F-Body style setup?

If it clears it's going to be close. I have f-body accessories on mine.

So you used the factory brackets and which alternator?

Also, did you keep the truck intake? How did that clear?

Thanks!

Supreme, can you elaborate on 'smaller alternator'?? Was grinding it down not an option for you??

The f-body alt has the same bolt spacing as the truck alt and has an overall smaller diameter. I have heard that there is an S10 alt that bolts in too and has an even smaller yet diameter. But I don`t know what year it was off of.

The smaller 105amp alternator off 99-07 trucks is the same alternator as the F car. Same outer diameter, same plug connection. Most people have the 130 amp alternator off the trucks though, and it is almost 1" bigger.
