Default Ls1 into 95 Buick Roadmaster Wagon?

Im hoping to have this swap completed by late fall early winter. I came across a ls1 block for 400 bucks. It has no belt driven accessories just heads, cam, crank, intake, block. I want to know how hard will it be to find all the other accessories for the motor?i know where to find motor mounts, headers, etc.but will it be difficult to find the belt driven accessories?I intend to use my ac as well. any opinions are welcome and appreciated thanx in advance

First I must say that this is one cool idea. For the parts you need I would first check the used parts for sale section of this website. Also may want to consider contacting Robin L @ GMPP, a sponsor here --------->

They can hook you up with the accessories you need...

Its easy to find the accessories. Go to the lsx classifieds and u will find...
And the motor mounts u can get them from street and performance. The headers also. The oil pan u will have to get the moroso oil pan number 21040 with the pick up tube. Also u can sell the stock one for about 150-200 so u get some of the cash back. And for the wiring. U can get a fbody harness (I have one pm me if interested) and u can cut your factory harness before the fuse box and mate the ls1 harness so u can keep the origonal fuse box. And the trans since u have a 95 it has an obd1 system. So for the ls1 pcm to be able to controll the trans. U have to change the pwm or pmw I 4get which one and the 3-2 shift solenoid from any 96 and up 4l60e. I know I'm 4getting some stuff but that's the basic.

Default good choise.

not a wagon but a sedan.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...dmaster001.jpg

making the truck intake work was the hardest part especially since i was using stock hood. start of with a car intake and it will be a piece of cake.

be surprised how easy the swap is if using the right parts.

good luck.

yeah im going to grab it tomorrow or at least pay for it.it was a spur of the moment decision to go ahead with this swap but ive read a few threads in full from front to back the other day on impalassforum(QUICKSSILVER) and i was like damn dont seem that hard.the heads on this block are fresh from gm too. The guy is now putting a ls6 into his 00 z28 thas why i got such a good deal on the motor. The car went 13.57 all stock not even an aftermarket intake lol so my question to you guys is what numbers should i expect from this swap?supporting mods are 3.73 gears,3600 tci converter, built trans,2.5" exhaust with xpipe? Also ill be purchasing some longtubes from s&p and getting the pcm tuned. The Ls1 will be left all stock no rockers, springs etc.figured id save lots of weight by swapping the iron block out.suspension is eibachs, bilstein adjustables,9c1 rear sway bar. My eventual plans are running mid to low 11s on motor and i obviously cant do that stock lol but im definatly interested to see what a stock ls1 does in a heavy ass wagon lol

You don't have to run 2 computers. I'm running everything off of the 2005 Yukon PCM, from AC to tach and speedo.

What he said^^^ he knows more I never even fired up mine lol. But I plan on running a carb with no accessories so I don't know what fits as far as accessories. But one thing is 4 sure the fbody ac will hit on the frame rails.

That is correct. The F-Body AC compressor will require a notch in the Pass side of the crossmember. I'm using the truck balancer on mine, so no cutting for me . Feel free to ask anymore questions, that's what we're here for.

how does the truck manifold fit uner the stock hood ? I know the firewall has to be cut. I'm just trying to save some money for now, not going with an LS car intake. Rather go L76/L92 when I get everything troubleshot.

How long did the swap take you?i figure with a few hours a day(3-4) it should take about a week (just a guess) i have a lift and everything so i should be close.will i have to notch the frame for the headers?also can i use a truck oil pan?

If you get the s&p headers u won't have to. And from what I know the truck oil pan won't fit.

I just completed installing a LS6 in my 95 Caprice. I used all corvette accessories up front, S&P (headers, engine mounts and their straight thermostat housing). I notched the frame slightly for the A/C compressor and I made a custom bracket that keep the A/C compressor tucked up snug to the block. This will be a fun project.

I built my own wiring harness and used a PCM holder out of a S10 pickup truck to mount everything in the original location.

Oh yeah, if you use the straight thermostat housing then you can flip-flop your radiator hoses and they bolt right up. The bottom becomes the top hose and the top hose becomes the bottom hose. Slick!
