Building a 700r4 for it. Stock rear end is in it for now. Factory F-body PCM with HP Tuners 2 bar will run it.

SWEEET. How does the spacing look inside the engine bay with the domestic 8 inside?

Would a T56 not fit?

T56 would probably fit fine, the 700r4 is kind of tight. The engine that was in it was huge dimension wise. Once we get the radiator and fans in we'll see how much room there is, without the turbo theres tons of room, with....it will be pretty tight.

Looks like it'll be fun. I'm assuming you guys have already seen pics of hagencue's car? He built a TT E39 forever ago, but unfortunately he fell off the face of the earth without passing any info on You guys seemed to have lost a lot of oil capacity by notching the oil pan. Are you planning to do anything to add some capacity back to it by chance?

The 135 is a killer car as is. Twin turbos 6 piston front brakes. Take a pic of what item on the frame rail you are talking about. I work for bmw and am sure that I can identify what the item is. Josh

http://www.members.aol.com/hagancue/

I believe his name is Bill Hagen, but I can't remember for certain. He was one of the first guys to throw a V8 in a 3rd gen RX7 way back in the day and he moved onto the beemer afterwards. I know he posted a bit of information about it over at torquecentral.com and later on v8rx7forum.com split off from it. You might be able to search the archvies over there, but I wouldn't expect to find too much detailed info.

I nearly bust a nut when I found the Hagancue 557tt. I felt compelled to email him, and to my surprise, he actually replied. He wrote he would be updating a website, and sent me his HTML stuff, but I have not seen it on the internet anywhere. I think it was a few more pics, and a bit more description but far from complete.

sweeeeeeeeeeet

i love that body style .
why did you go with a 700r4 as opposed to a 4l80-e , seems the 700 is ticking timebomb with the weight and power of that car.

did you look into an oil accumilator ( accusump) by anychance to help with the oil capacity issue ?

and what are you going to do for guages?
keep us updated!

Im sure I could make one if need be, but dont see an issue. This is a budget build, tranny is just an extra one laying around....it will be rebuilt and upgraded.

The steering linkage goes right behind that like 1/2" from the pan. It will be fine.

I just lasered the T4 flange out today and got the motor mount brackets drilled. As of now it sits like in that pic. Intercooler was ordered last night. Didnt work on it last night. Tonight should make some progress.
