I'm in the parts gathering stage for doing this to my 93. With the steering rack & pinion with steering shaft why do those need to be swapped? Is it simply a clearance issue or does it pertain to not fitting on the new K member?
Harness wise how much did you guys spend to have your harnesses modified by Speartech? Did they modify the engine harness or the harness that controls the headlights, blinkers, etc?
^ Ok, good to know. That shouldn't be an issue and save me a considerable amount of money. I still need to continue to piece together the front accessories.

Yes, Speartech modifies the engine harness to work with your chassis, it's plug and play. I didn't have to modify a thing. The charge was a nominal 500.00 on mine and was worth every penny. It fired right up on the first attempt, no monkeying around with wiring mods.
out of curiousity why did you have to fool with the abs ?
I've never been a big fan of ABS. I like to modulate the pedal pressure myself without having to rely on a computer/machine. Plus it clutters up the engine bay and adds about 12 pounds on the nose of the car.

x2, Although make sure your harness is good to start with before sending it in. My harness had a few pinout issues that were not found until after the install nothing to do with the work speartech performed it had the clutch pins in a different location.
I just did this swap myself of last summer. My car is a 97 and i used a 98 harness and PCM. Me and a friend did the wiring in about an hour after finding all the info online we needed beforehand.
It was literally 8 wires that needed to move or be repinned.
I was going to go the speartech route, until i saw just how simple the harness was going to be to modify. I also got a great deal of help from some members here.
The rest of the swap was pretty straight foward, a little warning though, If you are going the 6 speed route and are NOT doing a adjustable MC for the clutch.....Make sure you have LS1 pedals, the LT1 ones will not work properly. I fixed that by making my master cylinder adjustable myself for like 12 bucks.

Good Info Anniversary! Maybe we can get these things out to the track this year.
