i am looking for a new car i have owned a mach 1 and 03 cobra and loved them
my car got totaled so i need something new what is the good and bad about both cars witch is better witch has more potential to make faster i no allot about ford and a shit lode about mustangs but not allot about the z06 so help me chose
Ok well put it this way, and I know on this board most will not agree with me, but having owned both cars, I think I should have a little knowledge about them.
You can see the Vette's in my sig (mainly my FRC) since it was the fast one. I also had an 03 Cobra with all the bolt ons and a 2.3 Whipple. I sold the Cobra to buy another car and ended up picking up the FRC, and about 6 months ago I sold the FRC. Now looking back, I dont really miss the FRC, but I do miss my old Cobra. Yeah the Vette handles better, get's more looks and was faster. However I miss the sound of the Cobra IMO Stangs sound way nicer than LS cars, I miss the sound of the twin screw, and I miss the fact that it was somewhat of a sleeper. The Cobra was also way cheaper to mod than the Vette (vette tax is a bitch) Hell, ported blower, smaller pulley, tune and 150 shot and you have a VERY fast Cobra, for what $1500. Not only that, everything else, clutches, headers, exhaust's, everything. Dont get me wrong I love our 02 Z, but right now if you put a Cobra and a Z06 in front of me I would take the Cobra 9 out of 10 times. I also hate not having any room, another reason I sold the FRC. We had 2 Vette's and it was just not practical, I like having a little bit of room.
Anyway, i could go on, but you need to drive a Z and go from there.

at some Z06's tomorrow so i will see what i like more thanks for the help

If you have already had a mustang and you know how to work on them I think you should definately get the cobra.... unless you want a change then go for the vette
that is y i want a cobra, i no a lot about them!
but i also have friends that no every thing about vetts so could always learn
idk just need to drive a z06 and make my mind up
I owned two mustangs(cobra included)....i've owned two vettes...
If you want a completely diffferent car than anything you've ever owned, buy the vette.... you won't be dissapointed. It's a true sports car. If you'd like to know more details, your in the right spot.

Both cars are on the opposite end of the ball park
the 03-04 Cobras are more compared to the SS's and T/A's.
The cobra's a pig compared to the Vette so choose what you want, a Sports car or a Touring car.
a cobra need 100hp more to keep up with a vette.. 4 of my friends have cobras, 1 is even Whippled making 600rwhp and cant take me with 100hp less. MPG is muuuuch better on my car, girlies love it, it handles.. it stops.. so much better quality and technology..
^ its about the average, but my Whippled 03 didnt have many problems with Vette's. I know if I had to buy another car right now it would be a 03-04 Cobra over a Vette anyday.
I wish someone could figure out how to get that sound on a vette. Nothing sounds as good as a mustang.

Its called a supercharger....and the mustang mod motors sound kinda rediculous, lol. Only good one I've heard was my friends' 97 cobra with a borla catback.
It just depends on personal preference really. If you're a mustang guy then a vette probably won't do it for you.
My friend has an 03 cobra and it is a very cool car, but there is no way I'd give up my vette for it, I don't care how much faster and cheaper it is to mod.

Not really talking about the whine, IMO Mustangs sound badass. I loved my Cobra with a Bassani Catback and Bassani X. Here is a vid of my Cobra, lol my friends in the STi got a good listen to it (oh and it wasn't 700whp, I dont know where he came up with that)
