can I please get some of what this guy is on... c6 base looks weak, you see numerous ones each day, mostly older men and women drivers. C5Z is much more distinct, more of a raw connected sports car. Sorry I left my panties at home so I chose the C5Z over the c6... not slamming the whole C6 lineup as the LS3's are no joke but im pretty sure stock for stock a C5Z would eat an 05 Ls2 C6 for breakfast....

There's more to a car than just horsepower.

Drive a C6, then go drive a C5Z. Note the differences.

Correct.

The C5Z is faster than the C6, but not by as much as you'd think. The main difference between the two is gearing and weight. The Z has the advantage in both.

In my honest opinion, the Z looks a LOT better. The C6 is certainly refined, but the Z is far more aggressive and out handles the C6 Coupe. In addition, it's a Z. Not a base.

Couple friends have the c5 z and its a great car for sure. My friend weighed his and it was 3060lbs. Its a great car and I love it. But I like my other friends c6 better, Its such a better all around car. Even though you gain 200lbs with the c6 it still gets my pick. You have more potential with a ls2 vs a ls6. The problem with the ls2 is that the thing stock intake is crap and holds it back. You can be 450. wheel hp with a c6 ls2 with a fast, cam and good headers.

You can invest any amount of money into any engine and make good power. Yes, the 6.0 has more potential, but there's far and few that notice THAT much difference between the 5.7 LS6 and the 6.0 LS2. Heads are the same. Anyone can cam a motor, and the intake is pretty much identical. So the only new factor here is really displacement.

That being said, both the C5Z and C6 have their pros and cons when comparing them to each other, but if you want bang for the buck, you pick the C5Z. If you want refinement and the new look, you go with the C6.

In the end, they can both be made to go REALLY fast. But are you going to really nit-pick displacement when we know both motors will make 450 with cam, headers, intake and tune?

Yeah... And don't forget about the headache that comes with the LS2 C6... The rear end.

Yep just sayin Z06 has a better ring to it. As far as looks, I love the frc body style way better than the glass hatch. I run across alot of folks that think the c5z looks better than c6s. But i think color has somethin to do with it aswell.

And what the is the deal with the increasing number of electron blue c5z's? Nearly every person that posted owning a c5z is electron blue! lol

I did drive about 10 C6s in 2007 and almost bought a 2006 M6 Z51. I liked the C5Z better and ended up hunting down a Z16. I think personal preference and attitude play a big role in the choice as the performance numbers are damn close...

I just parted out my 10sec camaro back to stock pretty well and will be buying a c6 a little later down the road. I know stock for stock the c5z is the better bang for the buck but I have no intentions on leaving mine stock when I get it.

I'm not leaving my car stock either. Just getting past this economy right now before I start doing shit to my car. Right now the car still hauls ass and it's plenty fun. So I'm not complaining. LOL Besides, I don't really race, so it doesn't make much sense for me to do that stuff now anyway.

Default Tough Decission

Recently had to make the same choice , C5 Z06 or C6. Decided on the C6 after a C5 Z06 deal fell thru. No regrets , Love my new C6 like no other.
