Default Help...which fast intake!!!???

Well the time has come for me to purchase a fast intake and I really dont know what to get :

Used Fast 90mm (ported preferably)
New non-ported Fast 92mm
New ported Fast 92mm

Is it worth it to get a Fast 92mm?
Are the gains in a non ported Fast 92mm significant over a ported 90mm
Going with a ported LS2 TB no matter what intake I end up getting.

Motor is a 6.0L iron block 415ci 244/248 .612/.615 112.
All Pro Heads (ported)
Flow great mid range and 354cfm @.6

Looking for quality info, thanks guys

I honestly don't think your going to see a huge difference between a 90 & 92.
I would get whatever you find a deal on.

I had one head shop owner tell me they tested the 2, back to back, and the difference was barely noticible. He told me to just buy a used 90 !

Gotta agree with Pit on this one! Keep your eyes on the for sale sections of the forums and I'll bet you find a great deal on a Fast 90. BTW, I use the same Cylinder head guy as Pit and he really knows his stuff!

^Agreed. I went with a used 90 for $625 shipped. Much better than the $850 for a new one. The power differences are negligible.

What MAF are you putting in front of the throttle body? That will probably be a greater flow restriction than a 2mm difference in diameter of the throttle body.
In my case I am running a 78mm FAST with a ported stock TB and a stock MAF. I see a little bounce in my MAP at upper rpm WOT, so I think there is some room for improvement in my case.

A ported 90/90 makes very good gains, just have to be careful who does the porting.

i'm surprised so many people are saying go with the 90mm or one you can get the cheapest deal on!
i think on a stock engine, yes, gains aren't worth the $.

but with your setup with a 415 and some very $ heads, i'd be trying to max out the air coming in as much as possible? i'd be curious to see what kind of gains the 92 or 100mm ported intakes net over the stock 90 on a decent sized stroker engine with nice heads.
just my .02

I agree going to the 100mm will be good, BBQ is right.

If you read my post at the top, they (the 90 & 92) were flow tested by a friend of mine and the 92 is not worth the used 90 price. He actually saw no gains worth writing down. Now the 100...That big motor would love that !

GO 100

A LOT! I removed a ton of material from my LS2 TB due to two huge lips that it comes with in front of the blade.

I would go with a ported FAST 92mm. I have a 402 with TFS 215's and a ported FAST 92mm with a NW 96mm TB.

If you are going with anything bigger than a ported LS2, go with the Nick Williams 96mm or bigger. If you think you may go this route later, go ahead and have the inlet of the FAST opened up now so later it is just a TB swap.

Shoot Ron @ Vengeance an e-mail. They have tons of hours in testing FAST intakes. He will tell you TRUE gain numbers from one to another.

Are there realy gains in for examlpe if you´re runnig ported fast 92mm on a 402 N/A like your doing BADZ0h6?

from for example :
90 mm LS2 ported vs. 92mm NW vs. 95 X-tr vs. 96mm NW

If there are how much are we talking about?
Can´t find any compares of that on the forum....
