10 seconds, 6 seconds, whatever it takes.

And no offense really, but you sound like so many people on here that have no idea what your talking about. Here's a video of my friends 1,200++ RWHP car hooking just fine and staying in it for WAY more than 10 fuckin seconds.
And the car he's in front of runs low 9's in the 1/4 mile. I think they passed the camera at 170mph. Watch the clock, they were started before that clock started. And if they wanted to keep going they could.
So where exactly do you come up with 10 seconds being too much from a 50 roll? I'm curious what idiot told you this?

They passed the camera with 23 seconds on the clock. No way they started before the clock started ticking. Otherwise they're making a lot less than 1200 rwhp. I did the standing mile in about 24 seconds hitting 183mph. This was with a little over 600 rwhp on tap. Any car with 1200 rwhp on tap should be able to hit about 180 in about 7 or 8 seconds. Go to some standing mile events some time and you will see what it takes to really put down that kind of power. Based on your previous description of the race, I suspect your buddy was making a lot less than 1200 on that particular pass.

They started at 50mph I believe and went to 170mph.

180mph in 7 or 8 seconds from what mph start, 50mph?

And this is the car with 1,200+ RWHP.

Oh well, I guess I get to decide on a car in the next few weeks and we'll see how it turns out.

.
Yes, any car that weighs around 3500 lbs should be able to hit 180 mph in around 8 seconds with 1200 rwhp on tap. If they started at 50 mph, then they should have been able to hit 180 in under 8 seconds. Brady's F-body puts out around that much power. He's running a little over 150 mph in the 1/8 mile (which would be a little over 180 mph in the 1/4). Like I said, you have to really be around some real racecars to see what lengths they go to harness that power on a prepped track. Then try to hook the same power on the street and you will see with a "mere 1200 rwhp", you will have your work cut out for you. I know you say you're up for the challenge, but I think the reason why you think that your buddies 1200 rwhp cars are streetable is that they are actually in fact, only putting down a fraction of that power. Based on that video, it looks like 700-800 rwhp.

Yup, just once.

I already have more than 2,000 hp to play with, I should have a real badass video to post up on Thursday, how about 200-350mph, roll-ons (I guess we can call it), 20 feet above the water. Gonna do some badass low fly-by's on 50 powerboats heading to Bimini at 8am on Thursday. Should make for some cool vids from the boats too. Our own little airshow in my new black Learjet.

Im the one that has no idea what im talking about.
No way those are 8 and 9 second cars are hooking and taking 23 seconds to get up to 170

Patrick is right, Bradys car does well over 150mph in the 1/8 in about 5 seconds and thats spinning the tires across the finish line. To top it off hes using about half the power your dreaming about. So yes I would say 10 seconds from a 50 punch with twice the power and twice the duration is too much hook up on the street. If you dont hook youll probably be headed for the ditch. Dont get me wrong, I hope you push the envelope and make (or have made for you) a 2300hp lsx car but dont be so out of touch with reality to think that you will be able to hook it on the street.

I guess all I can say is: One day alot of people will be doing this very thing, its the nature of people and this sport/hobby, it will always improve. I'll take the first stab at it. Its funny, my builder here in Lauderdale is building me a 454ci + spray (300 progressive) for my current WS6, that'll be a fun fucker too. Should do 950 RWHP on spray.

No doubt. Dont forget to post up some vids once you get it finished.

I guarantee you that kind of power would have put bus-lengths on those two cars racing in the video. They were not making the power you think.

Ok, well, we'll see what happens. At least we will know what mine will be putting down if NRE does the work. Just depends on how much of that I can put to the pavement. I'm confident with the suspension work he's gonna do, mini-tub and huge (345/18) Hoosier R6's or whatever tire is better, and the aero mods, it'll stick pretty good from a roll. Its gonna be fun try'in.

definitely going to have your hands full, no doubt about it! And I'd be willing to bet that your not going to be able to remove the grin from your face (or your seat from the crack of your a$$)

Best of luck man!

I just hope you don't kill anyone the first time you take that car out onto the street and end up in oncoming traffic.

One would have to be a world class ASSHOLE to do any kind of fucking around with a high horsepower car, ANYWHERE, near other traffic or on any city street where cars can enter your lanes ahead without any notice.

Quickin it’s obvious you believe that 2300 hp is streetable and no matter what anyone tells you, you believe this, that’s fine.

All I recommend is if you are going to have this car built and drive it make sure if you have a family they are adequately protected. If you have a spouse or kids who depend on your income make sure you have enough life insurance and disability insurance when you crash the car your family isn't put through a financial hardship. If you would like PM me and I can help discuss coverage for you.

I'm a pilot by profession, is my $2 million life insurance policy enough, along with the $100,000 from Workmans Comp my company offers, my 50% ownership share of my Learjet and whatever my new company I just formed will bring in over the next 18 months, which will be DEEP into the 7 figures?????????????????????????????

I think they're good.
