Default Back Half, fab 9", 4 link Build (with pics)

I'm building this at school, I still have a ways to go on it but I'm getting a lot done for the amount of time and all the sign offs I have to get before each step.

I'm just running a 10.5 tire but I wanted the 4 link and strength.

HAHA yeah I am. Well chassis fab and HPE is now split up and HPE isn't avalibale at the Laramie campus now... but yes its for my chassis fab class. I will also be taking street rod next phase to do all my sheet metal work.

So far the trans will either be a 6 speed or a lenco.

Motor will be a 427 (maybe bigger) LSX block with a 106mm turbo. I'm just in the starting stages and it will take me a while to get the motor built and all.

I'm hoping to have the kick ups in by monday and if so then I'll try to get the sub frames in by wednesday. (wednesday is the last day I have in the chassis shop to work on the car, but then I have 3 more months to do all the sheet metal work.)

Pics after I got the rear rails welded in. Sadly it was also the last day of class so I had to find a "rear axle" so I could get the car rolling or it would have been fork lifted out of the shop. The 9" didnt get done so it will have to wait.

That is a looking build. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

What school are you attending that allows you to do this kind of stuff? UTI or Wyotech type?

I'd love to be in a class that allowed me to back half a car.

I'm going to WyoTech. Trust me it takes a while to get to do this.. Core classes aren't fun at all. Not saying I haven't learned a lot but it has it's ups and downs. As far as the Chassis fab class it was a blast! I couldnt wait to go to class and didn't want to leave.

I got done with school worked at a hot rod shop that ended up making me go broke so I quit got a new job, and am now slowly saving up money to buy tools so I can start working on her again. She's sadly sitting in the shop just waitting.

I could update with a few more pics but I've only got a partial floor and parts of the fabed 9".

I need a mig to weld in the sub frame connctors that I will be cutting the floor out for also to sinnish a lot of sheet metal work that I'm also doing. Then I need a tig welder to finnish the 9" and 4 link and cage. Welders aren't very cheap.
