Default 26 or 28 inch tire?!?!

I have around 600rwhp+ on juice. ive had both tires but only a 28 inch on a prostar. what would be the best for the track 1/8th and 1/4?

I'd run 16" ET Drags and call it a day....that would be perfect for the 1/8th mile with those steep gears you wont need the extra MPH as if you were running the 1/4....

Since you have the 28`s on rims anyway I would try those and see what rpm you go through the taps at if you go through much too low rpm try 26 inch the next time

Providing you can hook up I would use the 26 inch for the 1/8th
I have no problem hooking up with my 3 year old 26 inch et drags and 410 gears and leaving on the transbrake at 5200 rpm but I also dont have the rwhp you have(I only have 451 rwhp)
your suspenton tune will also play a large part and also if you spray out of the hole or not

600rwhp on spray..whats the torque? over 700? I'd say 26's are too small of a sidewall to keep all that power down. 28's all the way.

i agree my trap in the 1/4 is 122mph that was only on a 1.7 60ft. usually im cuttin 1.4 1.5 on either slick... track prep was shitty on the 1.7

28s are gonna generally be more consistent... with that much power and 4:10s I think 26s would make you run outta gear...

yeah something doesnt add up I trap 128 mph with 451 rwhp(3350 race weight)

now if it was a full weight car and 600 fwhp I might be able to see that

yeah, that trap speed dont add up. spinning off the line will generaly pic up mph as if getting a running start. IF your making that kind of power then you will most likely need a 28" tire to hook unless you have a full suspension car that is tuned in good. you need to log a clean pass and see what mph and rpm you cross at and go from there...

You need the 28 to get the power down for sure.

The car better be really heavy though if it's only trapping that mph with that power though. I'm @ 3350 and can pop off 142+ like clockwork and I know it's not making much more then 600 at the tires.

4.10's and a 28 should be good for 145+ without seeing more then 7000 rpm, if you're on the limiter as it is now, either your limiter is way too low, or your tranny/converter is slipping like mad.

Thats the truth, ruth.

Tire requirements change when raceweight and power levels change, this also applies to suspension and tire compounds.
