Got a couple of things done today but was pretty lazy after two weeks of working my ass off on customers cars (8am-10pm every day). Anyway, I'm picking up the heads tomorrow and I'm hoping to get the motor in the car and running by Sunday . It won't be driveable but maybe I can get a sound clip .
Here's a new addition to the shop equipment
New Cometic 4.030 head gaskets from TSP
Grandpa using the lathe to cut down the oil pump a little.
Also some grinding on the timing cover.
Here's how it ended up looking. It was a pain in the ass but finally got the Rollmaster double chain and Meilling oil pump to clear everything.

Ready to bust the 200 shot soon.
I went and picked up that Kent Moore line up kit from Marcus last night and I'm about to go meet the UPS guy here in town to pick up my valve seals so I can run them by Best Engines to get my heads finished up today and I'll be ready to put the whole motor together . Yeah I bet you are ready especially with them trying to blow you up !
I'll get some more pictures today...well...that's KaCee job

Well the machine shop ran into some issues with using the springs but really no big deal. The parts will be there late Monday and I can pick up the heads Tuesday morning for sure. While all of that is being done I'll be getting the suspension and rear finished up. The shortblock is DONE.
Putting on the front cover with the Kent Moore line up tool
Putting in the front seal.
Instead of using the stock crank bolt we used a piece of hardened all-thread and doubled it on and loctited. Pretty much like a stud kit you can buy.
Putting on the rear cover and seal with the line up kit.
Here's what it looks like all done. Had to cut .125 on the crank pulley to make up for the timing chain spacers.

It's finally ready to go in! Just gotta round up a couple of fittings for the vacuum lines and stuff like that and in it goes! Here's what all went down Monday and today .
Pulled the K Member out and got it on the ground, also cleaned it up and painted it.
Everything else came out and it looks empty
Kinda experimiented with the valve covers and went with the new VHT wrinkle paint
Finally got the heads in today, and new valves. (Milled .025, New valves, and hand ported)
Time for the front Acc.'s
Then the intake goes on.
After everything is fitted on!
Time to get the PCM and everything hooked up and ready to do all the vacuum crap for the morning.
Well I hope I can get a small sound clip for you guys tomorrow

IT'S ALIVE! Finally after a hard day of finding the little parts for vacuum and etc. it runs. Well once we got it started up and added some water it had a really good water leak. We looked everywhere and came to the conclusion that the heads were screwed since it looked like it was comming from the very back passenger side head bolt. BUT when you look harder with a big light the plug was missing . I don't know how we missed it, I guess the machine shop took it out while working on the heads. Anyway got that fixed and out of the way and now just waiting on tomorrow morning .
So tomorrow the sub frames get built and welded in, transmission and all gets hooked up, torque arm mounted, LCA's and panhard, and everything else to get it rolling. Here's some more pictures and a video. I'll have to get a better sound of it later.
Got the motor all in and the PCM hooked up.
Had to replace the damn heater hoses and it's a pain in the ass while the motor and all is in the car
Here's when we found the water leak and got it fixed.
Now for the video...

I've never had my camaro at redriver. I did race a yellow Jr. Dragster out there from 98' to 06 though. I also ran the dragster there once or twice. Whats your name?
